At Faith Before Face, we are deeply committed to protecting your privacy. Because our platform is uniquely designed around anonymity and spirit-first connections, how we handle your data is fundamentally different from traditional dating apps. We do not focus on your appearance; we focus on protecting your heart and your identity.
The Faceless Protocol (What We Do NOT Collect)
To preserve the integrity of our mission, there are specific types of data we strictly prohibit and intentionally do not collect or store for your public profile:
- No Personal Photos or Videos: You cannot upload, nor do we store, profile pictures or video content. Your identity is represented by an abstract avatar.
- No Real Names on Profiles: We require you to use a "Spiritual Alias" for discovery. Your real name is never displayed to other users.
- No Contact Information Sharing: Our system is designed to actively prevent and block the sharing of phone numbers, email addresses, and social media handles (e.g., Instagram, Snapchat) within early chat stages.
Information We Collect
To provide a secure and intentional matchmaking experience, we collect the following information:
- Account Registration Data: Your real name, email address, and Date of Birth. (Note: Your Date of Birth is used strictly for our mandatory 21+ age verification gate and is not publicly displayed).
- Your "Spiritual DNA": Information you provide to build your faith-first profile, including your Christian denomination, church attendance habits, views on marriage and children, lifestyle habits, and career field.
- Communication Data: We securely store your text and voice messages. This allows us to enforce our 3-day voice note unlock rule and actively moderate conversations for safety and community guideline violations.
- Transaction Data: If you subscribe to our premium membership, payment details are processed securely by our third-party payment providers (e.g., Stripe/PayPal). We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.
How We Use Your Information
Your data is used exclusively to facilitate God-honoring connections and maintain a safe sanctuary for our community:
- To filter and present compatible matches based on your shared values, location, and relationship intentions.
- To enforce our safety protocols, including automated keyword filtering to block the exchange of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) before mutual consent is reached.
- To process your "Leave + Return Flow" requests, ensuring that if a committed couple leaves the platform, any reactivation requests are manually verified for mutual transparency.
Information Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Your information is only shared under the following circumstances:
- With Other Users: Only your chosen alias, Spiritual DNA, location (city/state), and your introductory intent notes are shared with potential matches.
- Service Providers: We use highly secure, enterprise-grade cloud servers (AWS) with AES-256 encryption to host our database and operate the application.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety and rights of our community members.
The Covenant Exit (Data Retention)
Faith Before Face is built for marriage-minded believers. When you and a match mutually agree to leave the platform together (The Covenant Exit):
- Your profiles are immediately hidden from the Discovery directory.
- Your active subscription billing is paused or canceled.
- Your account is placed into an "Inactive - In Relationship" status. We retain this inactive data securely so that, should the relationship end, an admin can manually verify the separation before safely reactivating your account.
Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time. If you wish to permanently delete your account and all associated data, you can do so within the "Sanctuary" settings of the application, or by contacting our support team.
